Discover Cleveland's Boat Show

Whether you are an avid fan of boating or just simply wanting to have fun, The Cleveland Boat show will definitely give you a lot of fun activities and exhibits. Originally called Cleveland Boat and Waterfront Lifestyle Expo, it is being held yearly in January. At the Cleveland I-X Center, there are numerous boat manufacturers that showcase their new boat designs.

There are numerous boats that are showcased. Ranging from all shapes and sizes and purpose, they all have something for everybody's needs. From Albin, Hurricane to Zodiac amongst all brands, it can surely make any boat enthusiast very happy.

There are plenty of hotels that are suited for anybody. There are chains of hotels with different ratings. With positive track records such as Sheraton and Howard Johnson among others, it can give you the comfort you deserve.

Upon admission to the expo, you can get a free subscription to a variety of magazines. From Cruising World, Yachting, Salt Water Sportsman and Motor Boating which is an 11 dollar value, you can get more information on the Motor Boating booth.

Beverages Galore


There is a Beverage pavilion located in the boating island resort. As well as lots of foods, there are also the put-in-bay bar, Frosty's and restaurant which is also the same as the Islands Round House. It will serve foods all day of the weeklong show. It will usually start at 1 in the afternoon till 9 except 5pm on Sundays.

Shopping opportunities

There is a Flea market just for the show. The shops also showcase interesting accessories, all of which range from rare to just bizarre items that would give your boat nice touches of personalized style. There are also travel destinations for if you want try them. You can get the best deals out of the flea market during the first weekend.

Don't let the kids get bored


With Cleveland's Boat show, everything is covered. There are tons of activities to attend to. They can also try out the fishing pond just for them. There is also the Great Lakes Pirate Willie, giving a unique interactive fun and educate them about safety measure while being on boats. He also has activities such as coloring contests and more educational parties, performs on the stage at certain days only so keep your "eye" out for him, he has a pirate eye patch and wears a white and green pirate clothes. You can also bring them to Willies Pirate Island; rewards await upon completing activities such as free Ferris Wheel rides. Just drop by to his stage for inquiries.

Watersports in January

You can enjoy water sports Van Devere Rail Jam, located just northwest of the I-X Center. You can enjoy 40 ft. rails and 60 ft. long pool that is pulled by a winch, giving you a professional experience on how wake boarders fly.

Fishing Sections

With all activities in the boat show, there is always the fishing section in the expo. For a revamped edition, the 2008 boat shows have showcased Angler's Alley. Within the stage, there are lots of demos that you can get from professionals.

There are also other great things to visit from the expo. There are Waterfront Lifestyle Features. Sponsored by Lake Erie Living Magazine, they showcase a chalet with full decoration of nautical accessories. Found in the Marine City Sales, there are also two floating houses, exhibited in the pavilion of the Coastal Marine II. With Additional booths on Development Displays, Landscaping, Accessory Booths and everything about water home lifestyle.

The admission ranges from, $11 to $24, the latter of which is a 3 day pass for exclusive for the box office only. There can also be group tickets if you are arriving with 25 persons or more. Included is a VIP entrance, a free meeting room, discount hotels and no waiting for purchasing tickets. With parking, you can easily get a spot but only costs a little fee.
